Yoga can help with a short temper, but only by helping you learn to calm yourself and see inside to what is causing the short temper. You may also learn to control it a bit, but it won't make it go away. There is no quick fix for these kinds of things in life, the only fix is to look inside and see what needs to be changed within ourselves so that we can change what happens outwardly.
Yoga is a long path, it's not quick. If you choose to use yoga to help you, then you must commit to it and not expect instant results. The results from yoga only come over a long time of practice. You may not see strong results from doing yoga for months, so you must be patient. It WILL help, and you will find other benefits as you go along as well, that may surprise you.
Give yoga a try, but also start looking inward at what is making you so angry. Often it's something in our personal life that we don't want to face, and we take it out on people that have nothing to do with the original issue that is bothering us. Many times it is our loved ones, parents, or a sibling, something that is so difficult for us to look at we can't bring ourselves to acknowledge or face it. But we need to, and we need to ask ourselves what we can do. Often it's a situation we feel we have no control over. But we do have control over how we choose to react. Often once the problem is realized, we can seek help from those we trust, or reach out to those who are familiar with these kinds of problems, maybe a school counselor could help point you in the right direction if you felt you needed to talk to someone outside your family.
