Feeling guilty about binge eating?

Question by Just_Me14: Feeling guilty about binge eating?
I have been working out, doing yoga, and eating healthy for the past 5 weeks, and as a result, I already lost more than 20 pounds.

However, I've been pretty depressed for the past few days due to some news at work, and it has affected my workouts. I was no longer quite as enthusiastic about my yoga classes. Then today, at a party, I ate way too much - cheesecake, pasta, cream-filled stuff.

Does anyone know how much damage I've done to my body because of that binge-eating stint? Can someone put me in the right mindset so I can go back to path to success? How do I avoid relapsing like this again?

Best answer:
1. Based on how much junk was in there (preservatives versus real ingredients), I can't tell you how much damage you've done. Honestly, you just need to move past it and not dwell on it. You don't have a time machine, so there's no point in thinking about the past. What's done is done. Learn and move on.

2. The mindset you need to be in is this: "Life sucks, so I don't want to add to that." You're already dealing with stressful sh*t on a daily basis, so why add to that misery by punishing your body and emotional state? You need to stay strong because you'll otherwise just make yourself more miserable...and really, who wants that?

3. To avoid relapse, always remember the above two pieces of advice. :)
