Yoga and healthy eating/exercise tips?

Question by Cupcake87: Yoga and healthy eating/exercise tips?
Ok so I am wanting to get into better shape and better health as well. I just recently went threw a break up not even 2 months ago that totally hit me in the face like a brick wall. I didn't know it was coming in any way, shape or form. I had my lil' "my life is over and I can't go on with out him" moment and now I'm ready to start getting the new and improved healthy sexy body, make over me. I am 22 and in college right now + looking for a job. I am joining the gym and I'm also wanting to do yoga. I am starting to eat healthier and do home exercises as well. I am wanting to know how many times should someone workout and do yoga a week? I don't want to over do myself at all. I am just asking for advice from people so please no rude comments. I am wanting to also get into better shape since the summer is coming and my brother and his buddy are coming home for leave from overseas(Army) and I want to be able to wear a 2 piece bikini and not a shirt or a pair of shorts over. Which I have never been able to do. Also I am wanting to become a homicide detective and I have to become a police officer for a certain amount of years and then hopefully they'll let me become one. But I am also wanting to go threw the academy and need to be healthy and a lot more up speed than the rest because 1.) I'm a women, 2.) I'm 4'7" and 3.) I only weigh 95 pounds (for now- until I build my muscle's!)

I would love to hear what good advice/tips people have
If there's any recipes you like to share that would be awesome
what time of workout .. really anything at all anyone would like to share that's something positive would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

I am sorry about your heartache however there were 2 things that made me smile when I read your post which are so fantastic. the first is that you have made a decision to 'look after yourself' (you are half way there already as thousands don't even think about being healthier). The other thing is that you are very ambitious with all the things you plan to do with your life and that is fantastic too, so I have no doubt that you will reach your desired goal.

In answer to your question.

Consuming less calories per day is most definitely the way to go. On average for women you should not take in more than 1200 pday and for men no more than 1500pday - that's if you want to lose. You definitely will lose this way. Possibly have a look at how you are combining your meals and how often you are eating.

Saying that you need to ensure your body is getting the vitamins an minerals it is lacking from cutting down. in addition to that, our bodies don't really get the right amount of vitamins and minerals from eating normally anyway. I am suggesting taking a good vitamin and mineral supplement regardless of what it is you want to achieve.

I have lost quite a bit of weight (100kgs to 70kgs) and kept it off and I have done this by having a protein shake in the morning mixed with apple juice and ginger (very delish) I have that for lunch too but possibly another recipe like Strawberry and cucumber shake (also great!!). I have fruit throughout the day and maybe a snack bar. in the evenings i make a low-fat dinner of my choice and I just watch what i put in it but still manage to have fun cooking and making delicious meals. Be creative :)

I am not huge into exercise however I take a brisk walk each morning. That's great for the 'love handles!' However 'They Say' that you should change your regime periodically because someone who does the same activity all the time is likely to plateau much sooner than someone who varies her workouts. Just as you can get bored by always doing the same exercises, your body can also adapt to these exercises so that they don't offer the same benefits that they once did. A little variety might be just the thing you need to get the scale moving again or bust through that strength plateau. "Variety" means either changing something about your current routine (adding speed, distance, hills, resistance, etc.) or trying a totally different activity. If you like some consistency and don't want to change your workout each time you hit the gym, change your routine at least every 4-8 weeks (this includes incorporating changes to both your cardio and strength training exercises). This will keep your muscles challenged, your body guessing, and the results coming!

I have tons of healthy recipes and exercise tips on my site if you would like to have a look PLUS you can download my '7 Days To A Better Body' e-book for FREE too. There are great recipes and plans there for you to try. If you would like to 'speak' again please feel free to contact me and I would be happy to assist you :)

I hope this has helped you and answered your question in one way or another.

Dave

Before using YouTube as a marketing tool for your yoga business, you should first accomplish several steps to get the ball rolling. Initially, you need to create an account YouTube. Simply go to YouTube's official website and follow the sign up process. This should not take more than a few minutes. Record a brief yoga session.

If you're targeting neophytes then start with the most basic positions. If you are targeting the more advanced learners then do some really impressive positions.
