discomfort in yoga.?
Question by Ordinary_Gurl: discomfort in yoga.?
I just had my first class on wednesday so obviously I knew I was going to be sore, espically cause I do karate for two hours right after yoga. when i woke up this morning i felt like I was hit by a truck.
but anyways, we were doing the breathing and such and I got super light headed, and my instructor said it was normal for the first few weeks to be light headed since we are learning to breathe. No problem with that... except that when I go to do karate I am really dizzy.
okay so my real question, do any of you experience neck pain in yoga? I feel like I pulled something in my neck while doing the postions and having my head on the ground. I can't move it a little forward and backward without it hurting a lot.
maybe i'm not doing something right?
Best answer:
Dear Jayme,
you had obviously gone over the top!
"Stop horses..." why do you want to perform 2 very strong sports at the same time? Both of them are wonderful!
Of course, you've got a pain in neck, and that is certainly not good for your body!
I started with karate when I was a kid and I know very well that you are totally exhausted after 2 hours of training, if you train as you should...
So, why then you need to attend yoga classes almost at the same time? I think that's far too much and not healthy at all.
I add "Five Tibetan Rites" to my every day routine, because I am getting strong energetic boost and it takes just a few minutes, which is perfect if your time is limited.
Please, don't hurt yourself with over exercising.
