Question by fellowtraveler87: What's the best way to start doing yoga?
I am interested in doing it for flexibility along with fitness, in addition to my weight training routine. I tend to be very stiff in the neck/shoulders and lower back and I'm generally not very flexible. I'm 6' 230lbs... how should I get started? And will yoga help my neck/shoulder stiffness?

hi there,
my aunt and cousin started doing yoga more than a year ago and i'm super amazed by how fit they've become. they started with the "basic yoga for dummies" dvd.
i've stumbled around the net and this is the most comprehensive site i've found: http://www.abc-of-yoga.com/info/
it also has hundreds of yoga poses ( http://www.abc-of-yoga.com/yogapractice/postures.asp ) with a great "how-to-do-it" animation for each one. this site ( http://www.santosha.com/asanas/ )also lists many poses and, unlike the abc's, it even gives you a numeric level of difficulty which is wonderfully helpful. i like to combine the knowledge of these two sites for my practice.
