Any suggestions for climbing out a rut?
Question by : Any suggestions for climbing out a rut?
I've fallen into a routine of waking for work, drinking a couple beers before bed then doing it over. I tend to shirk the things I should be doing, like looking for a better job, exercising, etc. I think it's depression, but my thoughts are so cloudy and my motivation so low that it's hard to meditate much on anything, or carry any plans out.
Does anyone have any suggestions or help? I'm spiritual though not religious, I can't afford a doctor, I don't want to take "meds", or pharmaceutical drugs.
Journals, books, teas, herbs, day drives, yoga ... ? What worked for you, or guided you forward?

I have taken St Johns Wort. Be careful with this though as it doesn't mix well with other meds, prescription or over the counter.
Herbal tea from Celestial Seasonings, any that have Chamomile in them.
Daily meditation books or a thought for the day calender. And stop drinking daily.
