Trying to lose weight, I need some pointers though?

Question by Katie: Trying to lose weight, I need some pointers though?
Here are my stats,

I'm a 20 year old female, I'm 160lbs (evenly distributed) and I'm 5'3". I was told by my doctor just to do some toning and I'd be at a good weight, but I look at the weight charts and I should be 130lbs. I would like to get to at least 140lb, so I can feel like I'm a semi-good weight. I just need some help.

I started back doing my power yoga last night, exhilerating I must say :) it's a 42 minute video. I usually would run a mile either before or after yoga, but since it's about negative 11 outside right now, I feel I'm not going to risk the frostbite. With this being finals week, I'm in school to be a doctor so my course work takes over my life, I'm planning for now and when I go back after my break. I get december 17th to January 10th off, I plan to work strictly on my weight, but also be able to adjust when I go back. So that's question number one. Going to the gym 5 days a week, and doing my 42 minute yoga dvd, how much approximately can I lose also assuming I have a good diet?

Now for my diet, obviously when I go to school I don't have time for the 6 small meals, I did start eating breakfast recently about 1 cup of oatmeal with fresh fruit and I add some honey. The rest of my diet I'm having trouble with, I don't eat meat so this makes things slightly harder but I'm up for the challenge, nothing is ever easy right? I enjoy atkins protein bars because they don't contain much sugar and they fill me up, but of course I can't eat that alone. Suggestions please? I plan on cutting out sugar, fast food, also no pop. I don't drink alcohol or smoke.

Some guidance would be wonderful :)
Urm Hey moron who told me about wine, I don't care it was totally irrelavent to the fact that I said I don't drink and even if I did wine isn't my choice. Thanks for not answering the question? again, you are a moron. :)

Best answer:
Just eat healthy foods, do exercise, and get lots of sleep! Don't under eat, get TOO much exercise because they can lead to dieting disorders. Good luck! And good luck with becoming a dentist!

Yoga has been gaining immense popularity due to the short-term as well as long-term benefits that it provides. The aims of the yoga enthusiasts are extremely varied. Some are particularly inspired by the Spiritual Element that yoga provides; others by the increased Fitness and Flexibility that it results in. Some people find solutions to suffering from varied Health Disorders and there are others who achieve an All-Round Development of a calm, stress-free mind and a fit body.

Normally, in this kind of physical activity, there are studios that are designed purposely for yoga training. But, learning Yoga can also be done at home as you can now find Yoga DVDs out in the market. These DVDs are perfect for those people who have hectic working schedules. You just have to watch it in your home, and begin to do it alone. In this manner, you can perform it anytime of the day. You need not miss any class due to unavoidable circumstances.

These yoga videos and yoga DVD are very useful for beginners. There are a hundred reasons stopping you from practicing yoga - no time, the studio being too far away, the traffic's too bad, too expensive, too much interference. There are people who are hesitant to attend the class because they are still new to it. This is because executing the different postures of Yoga seems to be awkward if you are not used to them. If you happen to own a yoga video, you can try doing the positions at home. In this case, one will not have any qualms in performing them. Even the postures can be practiced, so that once the class is attended personally, you do not look naive about what is happening in the studio. You already have the idea about how it goes.

Practicing Yoga at home is an advantage as this type of Yoga is considered to be very intense. You expect the level of difficulty of the succeeding postures to increase. Thus, constant practice will aid in familiarizing them. It must be remembered that, Yoga instructors can not fully focus on teaching all of their students one by one. They might be checking each one of them from time to time but they do not give their complete attention exclusively to any one in particular. Thus, there is a need to learn the steps alone. This yoga videos will serve as a guide in learning the whole method and making it easy to be preformed.
