Question by Neon: Yoga for back pain / tips for standing for a long time?
Basically I've just started an invigilating job in a gallery and I have to stand for 7 hours a day (although with a one hour break included in this, so more like 2 3 hour shifts).
I started last night doing 3 hours and the pain in my lower back was horrid! Can anybody give me any advice for how to reduce the pain? I wear flat shoes that are comfy and I do yoga as it is, so maybe some simple discrete yoga techniques i could do on shift / before / after?
Hope you can help!

This is going to sound strange, but as you are standing try squeezing your glute (butt) muscles together. This helps me. Also try going to a podiatrist or a good shoe store and get fitted for a proper shoe. The correct shoe can make a helluva difference. Good luck!
