How to Do the Splits - Yoga PNF Stretching

www.YogaBodyNaturals.com Yoga flexibility and stretching exercise videos and resources for yoga students. Free email course shows nutrition and flexibility secrets. The frontal splits might look intimidating, but the truth is if you practice properly (using the technique Im going to teach you), and if youre eating the right foods, you can learn to go all the way down to the floor in the splits. The big secret is an old-school technique called Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation which is a big long name for a very simple practice. Before I show you how it works, I need to say that this technique is NOT to be used with most yoga poses—its not safe for most poses—but for the frontal spits in particular, its very safe and extremely powerful. STEP 1 You engage your quads (the tops of your front and back leg) as hard as you can for 20 seconds. STEP 2: You then relax like a wet noodle for a minimum of 20 seconds. Repeat this routine—engage for 20 relax for 20 —three times total, and on the last set relax completely and hold for 1-5 minutes like a wet noodle. Switch sides, and repeat. Question by average joe: My body hates me... My doctors hate me?
I have been following the schedule below for about 4 years now. You might think it's a bit much, but in all honesty, I am undermining it a bit and leaving some things out... I swear to god, on my mother's grave, I follow the schedule below

I run about 3 hours on the treadmill, lift about 100 lbs. with numerous reps and sets for well over an hour, pushups and situps for over an hour, and finish it off with a jog around the lake... it usually takes a little over 2 hours. I also do yoga and TaiChi in the morning with about 500 calories taken in all in one day, everyday

Heres the problem... doctors hate me. I am very fat (not muscular fat, like man boobs, stretch mark, well over 300 lbs fat). I have the lowest of the low metabolism and doctors don't believe anything I say. To them I am just some dumb, fat kid who sits in front of the TV and does nothing. I can excercise for an hour, and lose a pound, eat an apple and gain five instantly it seems. I have these skinny friends at the gym I go to (they usually do about 45 minutes of workout every other day) that are baffled by the things I do. They keep asking "how can you be so big, when you do so much to work out for so long"... I don't even mind being so big, its just the abuse I get from doctors. I have so many medical problems because of my weight, and I am desperate to solve them. Doctors just don't seem to help me. They make fun of me, and treat me terribly, even when it has nothing to do with weight. Last month I pulled a muscle in my upper thigh and the doctor said and I quote "It's not like you're going to use your leg. It seems that you're well aquainted with television and video games" I DONT EVEN OWN A FUCKING TELEVISION!!! I am now doing more than ever, pushing my body to its maximum point. I passed out last night at around 3AM on a cold street, because I jogged about 13 miles after my schedule. I constantly starve myself, and make myself vomit on a regular basis, almost every time I eat, yet I still gain fat. Every doctor is the same; I've been to dozens. They find it so funny to make fun of a fat kid. I'm 18, and have completed three years of college anatomy... but to doctors, I am a stupid, fat kid... I dont care if anyone answers, as long as someone hears this story. I am so depressed with no self esteem. There seems like no way out... I don't know what to do

Best answer:
You're overtraining WAY too much, and eating too little. Your body is freaking out and holding onto any calorie it can get.

Because of your size and gender, you NEED to eat at least 1700-1800 calories a day, and you NEED to cut down your training to running no more than an hour 5-6 days a week. Also, do less strength training. You aren't giving your muscles enough time to recover and heal themselves.

I highly suggest going to a therapist. It sounds like you have self esteem issues that you need to get worked out, and you have an eating/exercise disorder.
