Question by CB C: Did yoga and now have lower back pain?
I'm an overweight 24 year old and I think I might have through my back out. My lower back hurts when I bend over. What can I do to alleviate the pain? Is this permanent damage?

Take Motrin (it will help with the pain and the inflammation in your back) and use an ice pack for 20 minutes every hour for the first couple days, then use a heating pad. Only a doctor can tell you if it's permanent, but I doubt that you slipped a disk from doing yoga, more likely you just strained your lower back muscles by overstretching. If it's not better after a week, go to a doctor. And next time you want to do yoga, take a class. Yoga can screw up your back if you don't do it right. But it's great if you learn how to do it correctly. Good luck. :-)
