Question by PsychGirl: what type of exercise is ok when pregnant?
i just found out i am pregnant, i am guessing about 1 month. i have been doing the recumbent bike (low impact) and also hip abduction, leg press, leg extension, hamstring curl, and alot of the arm machines. Can I keep doing this or should i swap some stuff out? what about squats, crunches, using 5-8 lb weights for arms, etc??? how about pregnancy yoga/pilates or water aerobics?
Best answer:
power-walking is good when pregnant, and there are special classes for pregnant women in yoga and step aerobics and water aerobics. Arm exercises would be fine, but crunches and squats are not ideal.
